True Next Gen calls for young leaders to supercharge tech transformation in Thailand

March 22, 2024 – True Corporation is calling on a new generation of leaders to realize its ambition to accelerate telecommunications and technology adoption in Thailand. The True Next Gen program is open to fresh graduates and young professionals who wish to elevate their career and become leaders of the future through direct experience. It is an opportunity to fulfill their potential and to enhance their business skills and digital technology capabilities with real-world impact.

True Next Gen promotes diversity and creative ideas to drive the company’s mission of digital transformation to deliver value from innovative services, to raise the quality of life and to enrich the lives of customers every day.

 

 

Accelerating Telecom-Tech Goals

Ms. Sarinra Wongsuppaluk, Chief Human Resources Officer at True Corporation, said, “True is a telecom-tech leader with a mission of digital transformation to create a convenient and fast customer service experience with the full use of automation, using cloud and AI technologies. A new generation of talents is critical to achieve our goals, and True Next Gen is a fantastic opportunity for tomorrow’s leaders to help advance technology in Thailand.”

 

The program emphasizes increasing digital capabilities in the organization to be able to use cutting-edge technology. True has defined a human resources strategy to achieve three goals as follows:

 

  1. Create a Digital Workforce. The company has set a goal to transform 100% of routine work to be automated by 2027. The target is for 2,400 professionals to receive key training in digital competencies by 2024 and more than 5,000 people by 2026. Core skills range from data analytics and business innovation to digital marketing and automation.

 

  1. To be a high-performance organization that can achieve goals consistently, the company has adopted a 4C organizational culture (Compassion, Credibility, Co-Creation, Courage) that encourages collaboration and innovation.

 

  1. Build the next generation leaders. True has been working on the True Next Gen program for 13 years and has created a new generation of people with the potential to enter the job market. There are a total of 653 alumni and True is accepting applications for the new class of 2024 until the end of March.

 

Why must there be True Next Gen?

True Next Gen is a program to create a new generation of leaders who will help accelerate True’s path towards telecommunications technology leadership. True believes that the new generation will come in and create change in the organization in 3 areas:

  • Diversity: True recognizes the value of diverse perspectives in driving innovation and organizational success. A new generation will come in to add new perspective and creativity to enhance digital skills being hard skills, data analysis and soft skills, analytical thinking and turning data into business opportunities.
  • Fresh Perspective: Generational differences will create new ideas from the experience, knowledge and expertise in the industry of seniors combined with younger employees to share digital fluency that can foster a vibrant learning environment.
  • Customer Centricity: The new generation will have ideas and perspectives on digital usage that are close to today’s customer needs.

 

 

 

Identifying the Leaders of the Future

The True Next Gen program “True Next Gen” has been designed to advance employees’ career paths through hands-on experience and real-world assignments to prepare them to be True Corporation’s “Future Leaders” which are divided into two tracks according to their qualifications: 1. Tech Talent and 2. Business Talent. They will be given the opportunity to work closely with senior executives and will receive training in rotation throughout every business unit in the company over the course of 18 months.

 

The qualifications and DNA of True Next Gen are leadership skills and the drive to realize the company’s vision to become a leader in telecom-tech in Thailand. Applicants must be under 28 years of age, have excellent English proficiency and have graduated with a bachelor’s degree in any field. Applicants must pass an online assessment, one-on-one interviews and participate in bootcamp activities to be selected for the True Next Gen program.
