Bangkok November 23, 2023 – Gathering power from every sector and reinforcing the commitment to conduct business sustainably according to the United Nations principles, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara (front row – 3rd from left) presided over the opening of UN Global Compact Network Thailand Forum 2023 (UNGCNT Forum 2023). The event was organized by UN Global Compact Network Thailand – UNGCNT led by Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont, (front row – 3rd from right), President of UNGCNT and Chief Executive Officer of Charoen Pokphand Group, in collaboration with the United Nations in Thailand led by Ms. Gita Sabharwal, (front row – 2nd from left), the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Thailand at the UN ESCAP Hall on Ratchadamnoen Nok Road. On this occasion, True Corporation Plc. represented by Mr. Chakkrit Urairat (back row – far right), Chief Corporate Affairs Officer (Acting) of True Corporation Plc. as one of the founding member organizations attended the forum to reiterate the company’s intention in bringing its end-to-end digital technology to support “Partnership for Human Capital 5.0 towards Sustainable Intelligence-Based Society” and encourage human rights of all stakeholders which align with True Corporation’s sustainability development policies as Telecom-Tech company committed to give opportunities and enhance the potential of “People” covering all groups:
- Thai Youth – Elevating education in the digital era, minimizing inequality gap and encouraging Thai children to have lifelong-learning opportunities. The goal is to create digital society for everyone (Digital Inclusion) to reach 36 million people by 2030 through various projects such as the True Plookpanya Project, True Plookpanya website and application, the country’s largest online knowledge hub, Dharma reality program “True Little Monk” cultivating morality and ethics, Safe Internet Project encouraging safe and creative usage of Internet and telecommunications services, True Click Life, an innovative platform for integrated creative learning, as well as being one of the co-founders of CONNEXT ED Foundation with the mission to drive Thai education to forge ahead with stability and sustainability.
- Startups – Organizing True Incube Program to create end-to-end ecosystem to support startups and Thai technology entrepreneurs to create innovative business in Southeast Asian region with sustainable growth.
- Employees – Taking care of all employees to have a happy workplace environment, feel relevant with an opening stage to show their potentials based on the strong 4C organizational culture and organizing trainings to enhance knowledge and skills for employees with programs from True Digital Academy and many other world-leading skill development platforms. The company also encourages employees to participate in sustainability 100% as well as uses innovation technology in human resource management to increase work efficiency, prepare people to be ready to become leaders and deal with changes, leading to transforming into a digital organization that grows sustainably under the strategy “Future-Ready True, Future-Ready You”.
- Suppliers – Promoting all suppliers to conduct business according to economic, social and environmental (ESG) sustainability guidelines, especially key and high-risk suppliers that require on-site sustainability assessments by external auditors on an annual basis. This is to 100% meet the target of responsible supply chain management.
- Vulnerable Group – Employment of people with disabilities according to Sections 33 and 35 and collaborating with the “Autistic Thai Foundation” to improve the quality of life of autism people by creating Autistic Application, an innovation to enhance skills, concentration, intelligence and communication for autistic people, developing STS (Screening Tools for Special Needs), a survey platform and preliminary screening tool to help the autistic group have an opportunity to reach the treatment process in a timely manner and receive equal basic rights. In addition, CP-TRUE-Autistic Thai Vocational Training Center has been established to train careers for autistic people so they are able to generate income and be self-reliant in a sustainable way. In addition, autistic people from the Autistic Thai Foundation participated in training in making coffee, becoming a professional “barista” and being hired as an employee in TrueCoffee shops every year until the present, provided with opportunities to showcase their artistic talents and sell Art Story by Autistic Thai products by children from the Autistic Thai Foundation at TrueCoffee shops as well as establishing the Autistic Community Bank to create circular fund source for members and help solve the problem of access to funding sources for career as well.
