TRUE DIGITAL GROUP EMPOWERS DIGITAL LEARNING THROUGH ONLINE EDUCATION, DELIVERING OLD COMPUTERS TO THAI CHILDREN FOR LIMITLESS REMOTE EDUCATION.

04 December 2023

Bangkok, December 4, 2023 – According to a survey conducted by the National Statistical Office, the demand for computers among Thai students shows a continuous upward trend. Primary school students express a 91.3% interest in computer usage, an increase from 89.7% in the 2024 academic year. This positive shift contributes to enhanced learning experiences and the development of students’ skills. However, disparities in computer usage among Thai students persist, influenced by various factors such as income inequality, differences in infrastructure readiness, and varying policies across regions.

True Digital Group, led by Mr. Winradit Kolasastraseni, Head of Digital Media Division under the pseudonym “Online Station,” a leader in the digital media, gaming, and the top influencer network, organized the Thailand Game Show 2023: Assemble. The company collaborated in promoting learning and digital skills development for youth, concurrently emphasizing the reduction of electronic waste. As part of their engagement, they established a booth named “BMA Digital Classroom” in Bangkok. Individuals who donated computers and laptops at the Thailand Game Show 2023 were entitled to free entry to the event. Recently, True Digital Group delivered 67 used computers and laptops, which were in good condition and no longer in use, to the “Share Knowledge for Children” project. The donation was facilitated through a representative from the Mirror Foundation, Mr. Saranont Praphatsaranont, the Project Manager. He acted as the representative of Bangkok in coordinating the receipt and integration of the devices into the new ChromeOS Flex system. Subsequently, the refurbished devices were handed over to students at the Thai Niym Songkhro School, affiliated with the Bang Khen District Office under the jurisdiction of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA).

The “Share Knowledge for Children” project aims to collect old computers and used laptops for refurbishment and installation of the Google Chrome Flex operating system. These devices are then donated to schools affiliated with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), enabling students to engage in remote learning through Google Classroom. The project has set a target to receive donations of 130,000 devices within the year 2026.
