A notable initiative is CONNEXT ED, where True serves as one of 12 private-sector co-founders of the CONNEXT ED Foundation under a tripartite collaboration between the public, civil and private sectors. This initiative reflects True’s dedication as a Thai tech company, leveraging digital technology to support education nationwide. True actively manages 1,101 CONNEXT ED schools across 70 provinces, fostering sustainable development and educational excellence. The company has cultivated over 80 ICT Talents specializing in technology for education and more than 250 School Partners, who work collaboratively with school management, teachers, students, and communities to create and implement sustainable school development plans. This initiative highlights True’s commitment to empowering the future of Thai education through innovative and inclusive approaches.

Unlocking True’s Potential: Pioneering Projects to Transform Thai Education

True Corporation has initiated numerous projects to drive the mission of elevating Thai education, working in collaboration with the foundation to create impactful change. These efforts have since become model frameworks adopted by the public sector and other private organizations to enhance learning opportunities for Thai youth in the digital age.  One groundbreaking initiative is the establishment of Learning Centers, launched in 2017, to foster an ecosystem of learner-centered education. These centers emphasize child-centric processes and encourage community engagement. Initially, nine centers were introduced, and the program has since expanded to 20 locations nationwide.  Another significant project is the ICT Talent Program, which empowers teachers and students to utilize ICT tools creatively and effectively, maximizing their benefits for education. Through these efforts, True is not only transforming classrooms but also inspiring a new era of digital learning and innovation in Thailand.

Exploring Ban Tamru School (Wing Pracha Songkroh), Prachuap Khiri Khan: A Model CONNEXT ED School

One standout example of a model CONNEXT ED school is Ban Tamru School (Wing Pracha Songkroh) in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, under the stewardship of True Corporation. This school exemplifies the power of collaboration between school management, teachers, students, ICT Talents, and School Partners. Together, they have successfully implemented the five core strategic principles of the CONNEXT ED initiative, delivering tangible results and driving meaningful transformation in education.

Strategy 1: Transparency

Ban Tamru School has implemented the School Management System (SMS) to facilitate data entry and regular monitoring. This system allows the school to assess its strengths and weaknesses effectively, using the insights gained to develop and implement strategic plans for ongoing improvement.

Strategy 2: Market Mechanisms

The school has established strong collaboration with the local community, including support from the Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO). Contributions include providing computers, budgets, and local knowledge. A school board actively oversees all aspects of school operations, while the School Partner (SP) works closely with the school to co-create developmental strategies, ensuring a hands-on and participatory approach to progress.

Strategy 3: High-Quality Principals and Teachers

At Ban Tamru School, ICT Talents have been instrumental in enhancing teachers’ digital skills. Teachers are encouraged to create their own blogs on the school’s website, where they can upload teaching videos, instructional materials, and activity updates. This allows students to review lessons anytime, anywhere, while parents can gain insight into their children’s classroom environment.  Some teachers have even started utilizing AI to develop engaging teaching materials and have expanded their skills to create innovations such as English learning tools using Micro:bit.  These efforts have earned the school recognition as a Model Digital Platform School by the Prachuap Khiri Khan Primary Educational Service Area Office 2.  Additionally, ICT Talents collaborate with the local educational office and public-sector ICT experts to provide technology training for educators in the region, further supporting the integration of digital tools into teaching and learning processes.

Strategy 4: Child Centric & Curriculum

Ban Tamru School embraces Active Learning methodologies, placing students at the center of the educational process. Students are encouraged to integrate AI into their learning, boosting their competitive edge at the national level. Examples include using AI for storytelling and creative writing, as well as advancing their scientific capabilities. The school is also planning to transform its library into a Learning Center, fostering an environment conducive to modern, hands-on learning. Impressively, the school has independently raised funds for this initiative through community-driven activities, such as organizing football tournaments, showcasing strong collaboration between the school and the local community.

Strategy 5: Access to Digital Infrastructure

The school provides access to essential digital tools and learning resources, including computer notebooks, a computer lab, a science lab, and a broadcasting room. These facilities allow students to engage in advanced learning experiences and stay updated on school news and activities, ensuring they are well-prepared for the digital age.
