True Move H Universal Communication Pays Fourth Installment of 1,881,488,000 Baht for the 700 MHz Spectrum License

08 January 2024

January 8, 2024 – True Move H Universal Communication Co., Ltd. (TUC) has paid the fourth installment of 1.88 billion baht for its 700 MHz spectrum license with a Letter of Guarantee from financial institutions to secure the remaining payments related to the spectrum auction and assignment by NBTC. This installment was paid to the NBTC on January 8, 2024.

True Corporation is enhancing user experiences for its TrueMove H and dtac brands by utilizing the 700 MHz frequency band. This low band spectrum is being employed to expand 5G and 4G services, thereby increasing network capacity and coverage nationwide. The aim is to provide all customers with faster internet services. Customers will benefit from improved quality in various applications, including live video streaming, online shopping, teleconferencing, and distance learning. The company is continuously developing networks for both TrueMove H and dtac brands, focusing on faster internet services and broader coverage. Specifically, TrueMove H and dtac customers will have access to the 700 MHz spectrum in urban areas, especially in high-rise buildings, and in remote locations. Additionally, efforts are underway to enhance signal availability at new tourist attractions.

The 700 MHz spectrum was initially allocated to dtac TriNet (DTN) following the office of NBTC’s Notification regarding the Procedure for Spectrum Licensing for Telecommunications Service in the Frequency Band of 703 – 733/758 – 788 MHz. Subsequently, DTN and TUC merged into a single company under relevant law, with TUC remaining as the legal entity. Consequently, all assets, liabilities, roles, and responsibilities of DTN were transferred to TUC. According to the law, TUC is required to adhere to the office of NBTC’s initial notification, which includes conditions for paying the 700 MHz spectrum license fee. This spectrum holds a 2×10 MHz license with a 15-year duration, valid until 2035.
