Bangkok December 1st, 2023 – Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, led by Mr. Anukul Peedkaew, Permanent Secretary, presided over the opening ceremony of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities for the year 2023. During the event, the prestigious “Organization that support and employ People with Disabilities” award at the Distinguished Level was presented to True Corporation Limited, represented by Mr. Chakkrit Urairat, Head of Regulatory & Government Relations Division (Acting), received the highest accolade on behalf of True Corporation, which was honored with the prestigious award for supporting the employment of persons with disabilities at an honorary level. This recognition is a result of True Corporation dedicated and continuous efforts in supporting diverse groups in every dimension since 2013. The company has consistently utilized digital technology innovations to enhance capabilities and professional skills, creating services that improve the quality of life for marginalized groups, helping them establish careers, generate income, and achieve self-reliance. True Corporation has been recognized as the distinguished employer supporting the employment of persons with disabilities for the 11th consecutive year, demonstrating its commitment of True Corporation as a responsible telecommunications and technology company dedicated to contributing to society.
True Corporation has been consistently promoting and enhancing the quality of life for persons with disabilities under the concept of “Organization that support and employ People with Disabilities” The company focuses on improving the lives of various vulnerable groups, covering disabilities in seven main categories: visual impairment, hearing impairment, mobility impairment, mental health, intellectual disability, learning disability, and autistic individuals. Leveraging the potential of digital technology, True Corporation has innovated solutions such as the True Autistic Application a tool designed to enhance learning, communication, and overall physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being for special needs children without incurring additional costs. Additionally, True Corporation has developed preliminary screening tools, known as STS (Screening tools for persons with special needs), to identify individuals with special needs. These tools aid parents and caregivers in early detection of potential risks such as learning disabilities, short attention spans, intellectual impairments, and autism. In addition, True Corporation has actively employed individuals with disabilities in accordance with Sections 33 and 35 of the law, hiring more than 300 people with disabilities annually, covering all seven types of disabilities outlined by the law. Furthermore, the company collaborates with the Autistic Thai Foundation, establishing vocational training centers to develop various skills for autistic individuals and their families. Additionally, True Corporation has set up vocational training centers for people with disabilities in the Northern region and ASEAN border provinces, aiming to enhance their skills.
