Digital Enablement = The Key to Driving Equality and Sustainability in Thailand
Mr. Manat Manavutiveth, CEO of True Corporation, said, “At True Corporation, we are deeply committed to fostering a Thailand where everyone has equal opportunities in the digital world. I often remind my colleagues to take pride in our role in driving the nation forward and bridging social disparities by ensuring everyone can access digital technology. Thanks to True’s robust digital infrastructure, including a 4G network covering over 99% of Thailand’s population and a 5G network reaching 92%, we empower limitless digital access for all. This connectivity opens doors to education, healthcare, economic opportunities, market access, financial services, and the development of both digital and business skills.”
Innovative Digital Technology to Bridge Inequality Across All ESG Dimensions
As a leading Thai tech company, True Corporation is leveraging the power of digital technology to create ‘Inclusive Business’ that leaves no one behind. On the social dimension and educational front, True Corporation has implemented the True Plookpanya Project, enabling youth across the nation to access rich educational resources and bridge the knowledge gap. Collaborating with over the public, civil sectors and 50 private organizations through the CONNEXT ED Foundation, True is making a significant impact by narrowing the educational divide between urban and rural students.
In partnership with the Autistic Thai Foundation, True has developed the Autistic Application, designed to enhance the capabilities and skills of Thai children with autism. This application has been downloaded over 1.9 million times, further highlighting True’s commitment to inclusivity. On the environmental dimension, True has joined forces with the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation and WWF Thailand to deploy the True Smart Early Warning System (TSEWS). This technology mitigates human-elephant conflicts, reducing damage to crops and fostering coexistence. Reflecting the ‘Tech For Good’ philosophy, these initiatives demonstrate how technology can drive tangible, positive change for society and the environment.
“True recognizes the critical importance of environmental stewardship. We have adopted artificial intelligence (AI) technology to optimize energy management, achieving up to a 15% reduction in energy consumption at network towers. Additionally, we plan to install nearly 10,000 solar panels by the end of this year to drive our mission of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.”
“In governance dimension, True Corporation emphasizes ethical AI usage. We are the first organization in Thailand to implement the GSM Association’s Responsible AI (RAI) Maturity Roadmap, promoting the safe, fair, and sustainable use of AI in the telecommunications industry. This underscores our commitment to fostering ethical AI practices. Furthermore, True prioritizes digital social responsibility. Our latest initiative, True CyberSafe, employs advanced AI technology to enhance cybersecurity. This system, available free of charge to True-dtac, and TrueOnline customers, offers robust protection against cyber threats, ensuring a safer digital environment for all,” Mr. Manat added.
“Inclusive Business” Becomes a Reality Through Cross-Sector Collaboration
“Sustainability and ESG principles are at the core of our business operations. At True, our focus goes beyond driving organizational growth. We aim to build a sustainable future for society and the next generation. However, this vision cannot be realized by one organization alone. It requires comprehensive collaboration across all sectors to address challenges effectively and create an ecosystem that fosters sustainable and equitable growth in a tangible way,” Mr. Manat concluded.
