DCT Collaborates with Tawanchai Foundation, Population & Community Development Association, and True Digital Group Signed MOU for Health Promotion via Digital Society Networks Project, Driving Digital Platforms to Enhance the Quality of Life for Cleft Lip and Palate Patients

Bangkok 16 September 2024 – M.R. Nongkran Chompoonut (2nd from left), Chairman of the Digital Council of Thailand, signed MOU with Professor Dr. Bowornsilp Chowchuen (2nd from right),  Chairperson of Tawanchai Foundation for Cleft Lip, Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Deformities, Mr. Vilas Taecho (far right), Director of Population & Community Development Association, and Mr. Chang Foo (far left), Head of Digital Health, True Digital Group Co.,Ltd., for Health Promotion via Digital Society Networks Project at DCT, Phetchaburi road. 

M.R. Nongkran Chompoonut, Chairman of the Digital Council of Thailand stated DCT, as a central organization that works with the private sector, government and public, recognizes the importance of using digital technology to support individuals with disabilities. Therefore, a health promotion via digital society networks project has been initiated under the collaboration with Tawanchai Foundation, Population & Community Development Association, and True Digital Group, to encourage deploying digital technologies to create an equal society. The project aims to enable patients with cleft lips and cleft palate, and people with facial disabilities to access medical information and services conveniently and improve their quality of life as well as create better opportunities in the future. DCT is ready to be a leader in driving various projects, paving the way for sustainable development of the country and create an equal society for everyone.

Mr. Chang Foo, Head of Digital Health, True Digital Group Co.,Ltd., stated, “True Digital Group, a leading provider of comprehensive digital services under True Corporation Plc., is proud to apply its expertise in developing innovative digital healthcare platforms to support individuals with disabilities. This initiative highlights our commitment to advancing digital equity by ensuring that people across Thailand have equal access to digital services. Through this collaboration, we have created the Telecare platform, designed to offer continuous, convenient, and efficient medical care for patients with cleft lips, palates, and congenital head and facial disabilities. The platform enables patients to schedule and consult with doctors online, reducing both time and travel expenses while eliminating long wait times at hospitals. Additionally, the Telecare platform enhances the capabilities of healthcare professionals by allowing them to manage appointments and provide tele-consultations to patients nationwide. This enables doctors to care for more patients and monitor their conditions more effectively. True Digital Group remains dedicated to advancing digital health services, aiming to contribute to the sustained health and well-being of people throughout Thailand.”

In addition, a panel discussion session was organized at the event. Many experts from various fields shared their expertise and perspectives on the topic of “Opportunity, trend and benefits from using digital technologies in Thailand healthcare system”, including Assoc. Prof. Chanchai Sittipunt, M.D., member of the board, the medical council of Thailand, and Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, Mr. Prakorb Jongjarussang, Vice Chairman of DCT, Piraya Tamrongterakul, M.D., CEO and Co-founder, Chiiwii and DCT’s committee, and R.N. Yupin Pakkasang, professional nurse (coordinator and case manager of the Tawanchai Foundation).

The health promotion via digital society networks projects aims to build a platform that connects patients, families, and healthcare professionals, enabling patients to access health information, news about diseases, and self-care instruction and consult a doctor conveniently and quickly. Moreover, the prototype areas have been developed to increase the efficiency of medical services and promoting access to technology and use of 5G among individuals with disabilities, The first phase of the project has been targeted 500 people and will be expanded to other target groups in the future.
